Anti-wrinkle treatments are one of the most non-surgical cosmetic treatments available today, and our independent nurse prescriber, Kelly, is fully qualified to provide them.
Using injections, Kelly can provide a highly effective anti-wrinkle treatment for those common problem areas, including:
Injections work by temporarily blocking the nerve impulses that cause muscle contraction. By blocking these impulses, the muscles that cause wrinkles are relaxed which results in a smoother and fresher appearance of the skin.
Particularly effective on the upper half of the face, these injections are commonly used to smooth the forehead, any frown lines as well as crow’s feet. When used in small amounts, these injections can be used to lift the brows and open up the eye area.
As well as treating the face, the treatment can improve the look of neck lines and tighten the skin.
The treatment takes around 20 minutes and involves several tiny injections to specific areas of the face. Injections are relatively pain-free. Some patients report some discomfort – a stinging or a sharp sensation – but topical anaesthetic cream can be used to help this.
You should be able to see the effects within 2 weeks.* To maintain the results, repeat treatment is recommended 4-6 monthly. There are no complications if the patient decides against re-treatment; lines will simply return to the original state – this treatment will not cause more lines if stopped.
Excessive sweating is another common problem that can be resolved with our highly effective injection treatment.
Caused by the stimulation of the sweat glands by the nerve endings that originate in the brain, excessive sweating can be induced by emotional stresses and physical stresses, as well as increased body temperature from exercise or hot weather.
The treatment
Our treatment works by injecting a small amount into the hair-bearing skin of the axilla. This will block the neurotransmitters that stimulate the sweat glands, greatly reducing and preventing sweating.
The treatment should reduce sweating within 48 hours, with full effects being achieved within 1 week and will last between 6-10 months.* Persistent sweating areas may require a second treatment.
